Happy Birthday to Kayan and Victor!

Happy birthday to these two special people. You guys are awesome! ... It seems like it's everybody's birthday around this time of the year. There have been two that have passed so far, and three more in the upcoming few days...

I loved the expression on Victor's face, when all of us crowded together at Outbacks Steakhouse to surprise him for his birthday today. He stood there with a blank expression on his face, all dazed and blinking like a person who has never seen anything in his life. What made things even more interesting was the fact that I saw Victor yesterday at Kung Fu class (Victor just recently started coming with me). It felt gut-wrenching to trick him into believing I forgot about his birthday.

Keith: "Victor, hey man... We haven't chilled in a very long time. We should get the group together some time to hang out."

Victor: "Yeah sure... How about tomorrow?"

Keith: "Sorry Victor. Weekdays are no good for me. I'm busy this weekend as well. Maybe we figure something out next week?"

You should have seen the look on his face after this conversation ended. He even told Tin that he thought I forgot about his birthday! Boy! Did we ever show him!

Another story: yesterday was Miss Piggy's b-day, but we celebrated her's on Saturday night. I loved the sweet lil' prank we played. :) Because we needed to get Kayan outside of the building, we made the lame excuse of making her pick up another one of my friends, Emma, who was coming by TTC. Once we arrived at the station, Emma was already there. It was too quick... So I needed to stall more time... While the others were preparing the cake and presents upstairs, I had to think up of a way to distract her in order to give the rest of the guys upstairs more time to prepare. So I thought up of something... :) Thanks to Emma's quick cooperation, we gained enough time. She didn't even realize that I was fooling her until we went back to find the cake, all lit up with candles in the darkened room. I LOVE surprises...

Tired...

I've been trying to get back into shape by doing more exercise and taking part in more physical activities. But I don't feel as recharged by this anymore. When I used to finish swim team practice, or even finish running 10k, I would feel alert and energized. Now, when I run, I lose my breath more quickly (after a mere block or so); when I spar in kung fu, I don't react as fast; when I paddle, my muscle strains and burns more easily. I suppose that I've simply reached the peak of my prime and now, I am only beginning to feel the slow decline. Soon, my matabolism will slow to a rate where my belly will begin to bulge into a large round ball if I don't keep up with some rigorous exercise. My muscle is sore, I want more sleep. I'm getting old (old-er at least!). I'm turning 23 in a little over a month!

Laziness

I've been so freakingly lazy with this blog lately. Much has happened since I last wrote a blog entry. I've been working incessantly at the hospital, pipetting invisible DNA water into eppendorf tubes, mixing other chemicals in, and watching bacteria grow. Work hasn't been the most exciting thing lately. My cloning reaction plates have constantly ended up in the garbage bins. I've been so busy that I hardly ever find time for myself to unwind. I find that my priorities are shifting. Slowly relearning how to juggle with time...
